Family member got me my christmas present early. It's a SEGA Mega Drive!



Once I got some spare time I'll definitely mess about with it and try out marsdev and SGDK or something along those lines.

It's a Model 1 VA6.5 - so it's got the good Discrete Yamaha YM2612 chip for FM sound!
Serial number is 120399328. So if there's a list somewhere feel free to enter my name there or something.
Other mods I got in mind include the PAL/NTSC switch. Luckily a power-supply mod is not required as the external power brick is multi-voltage and supports both 50Hz and 60Hz. This means I can take this around for travels. I'll be dumping the composite PAL signal for SCART component anyway, since North American Televisions probably won't decode the composite PAL signal, even in 60Hz mode.
